Where do you find the command reference documentation

I am trying to insert a file using bookmark ranges and am having to guess how to do it because Help isn't. There must be a secret handshake to get help to simply show me what and how to do things on the various Word commands but it certainly isn't bringing the basic command reference back when I put in obvious "Insert File" in the search box.
I'm sure this is common across commands, so I'm more interested in how to get to the word command reference data than how to solve my insert file problem...

Help is unfinished--make sure you are allowing online Help, as it will
be added to over time. The help on "field codes", which you need, is
particularly weak right now. Also notice that you can send
topic-specific feedback directly to the Help writers by using the Did
This Help? button at the bottom of each topic.

Assuming you already set up the bookmark, in the Insert | File dialog
there is a checkbox to Link to File and then a field for you to enter
the name of the bookmark.
