where does MS Office Document Imaging store its file names?

I am using Microsoft Office Document Imaging with an HP Scanner with
Automatic
Document Feeder attached. It works just fine but, when using the option for
"Auto numbers" in Output it always comes up with the file name "Scanxxx"
(where xxx represents digits).
The program obviously stores the last file name "Scanxxx" from usage to
usage as the xxx part increments from the previous usage. I need to be able
to zero these digits. Can anyone advise
me where to find this file name storage and if in the Registry..where?

Generally these file names would be programmatically generated during the
session, and perhaps updated if the default folder already files with lower
xxx names. There is no need to store the numbers externally, and the "Scan"
prefix would be part of a string resource in a system DLL which you would
edit at your peril.
