If I set the varios settings in Tools -> Options dialog where does these
settings actually get sotred on the dics any files / registry locations etc.
Is it per user basis or per doc basis or per machine and if these files
copied does settings affect if the MS project settings are different on other
machine?

san,
Take a close look at the various options under Tools/Options. Unless
otherwise specified, options apply to the Project application itself.
They are stored in the Global file for that installation of Project. The
Global file on one user's desktop can be transferred to another user's
PC or they can be put on a central server.

Some options are unique to a particular file and those are noted in the
options. These options are stored with the individual file. Most file
unique settings can be transferred to the Global using Tools/Organizer.
Then they will be available for any Project file.

Hope this helps.

Just thought I'd mention that the settings that are document/project
specific have a "Set as Default" button in that part of the box to make
them application wide settings.
Hope this helps in your world.
