Hi

Can anyone help me out to find the excate path on hard disk where M
Project Server 2003 stores the project files. I'd also like to know th
format of the file.

I tried to search it on the harddisk for *.mpp files, but was not abl
to find any. One of my friend told me that it stores data in SQL serve
only. So what if I want to take backup of all the projects on th
server, SQL backup is the only way to do it? if yes then how to restor
the backup files if someday I want to build the new server.

Thanx - Jines

Hi Jinesh,

In Project Server 2003, projects are not saved in file format (*.mpp)
but on the SQL Server in the ProjectServer database.

SQL Server Backup is one way to backup and restore your database. There
are other 3rd party Enterprise software.

For more information on SQL Server 2000 Backup and Restore read the
following:

Thanx rolly for ur reply.
This means that we can not backup projects as a file on any media but
it will be in DB format only. Else v'll have to back it up as *.mpp
file manually.

Anyway .. its software limitation, so can't do much with it.

Thanx once again. - Jinesh
