Hi

Can anyone help me out to find the excate path on hard disk where MS
Project Server 2003 stores the project files. I'd also like to know the
format of the file.

I tried to search it on the harddisk for *.mpp files, but was not able
to find any. One of my friend told me that it stores data in SQL server
only. So what if I want to take backup of all the projects on the
server, SQL backup is the only way to do it? if yes then how to restore
the backup files if someday I want to build the new server.

Thanx - Jinesh

Hi Jinesh,

In Project Server 2003, projects are not saved in file format (*.mpp)
but on the SQL Server in the ProjectServer database.

SQL Server Backup is one way to backup and restore your database. There
are other 3rd party Enterprise software.

For more information on SQL Server 2000 Backup and Restore read the
