Where is Chkdsk error log?

Does Checkdsk create an error/event log, for those who don't want to wait
around staring at the screen for that 2-sec moment at the end of testing the
disk when it flashes the results on the screen?

try Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer.
