After furious head scratching, Nellie asked:

Nellie asked:

Unfortunately the BETA version *is* available for download; see
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/getthebeta.mspx. That's
why we are seeing inexpert users asking about OL2007 problems when they
really have no need for the new version. Some folks want to be at the
bleeding edge but complain when they get cut. Rather than post
questions about the betaware in the proper forums
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/community/newsgroups.mspx),
they'll be over here.

Nice link...Did you know though that those proper forums are actually
the public newsgroups for these programs, meaning these newsgroups
here...?

Thanks -- from those that are using it - what are the major differences that
I'll have to retrain myself on?

As noted in my other reply where you note this misdirection, the web
pages at Microsoft make it appear that they are navigating your to
groups that discuss the BETA software. Yet, as you note, all they do is
dump the users back into the groups that discuss the released versions.
Apparently Microsoft doesn't was a community focused on just their
betaware and instead dilute those posts in with those for the old
versions.
