where is office 2007 beta 2 download?

I used to have the Beta but needed to format my Hard Drive. I just assumed I
could redownload the beta file, wrong... microsoft is not currently offering
it for download. They said i should get the install file from someone I
know.

BTW, you can still get the technical refresh and other add-ins but not the
original install file... Can anyone help?!? Please, I have files saved in
2007 that I cannot open now!

The beta download has been withdrawn as the beta is over.

I understand that, but I already had the beta running and those who still
have the Beta on their machines are able to continue using it. I should also
mention, the files I'm trying to run are extremely important, I need to give
a presentation on the 9th and the whole slideshow was built in powerpoint
2007, that's why I'm freaking out. I would be willing to pay someone for the
install file or even pay microsoft itself, i just need to help. Please give
me a hand...

What about not using Beta software for production critical use was not clear? I am sorry that you are now up a creek but the files are gone, period.

I would suggest checking to see if that converter for Office 2003 is still
available so that you can maybe run your work with PowerPoint 2003. I know
that right now you aren't very happy with Microsoft but there were warnings
about using it on a production system. The biggest lesson you can take out
of this experience is never screw around with a computer if you have
critical work to do on it and cannot afford downtime. I downloaded the beta
on my husband's computer because (1) he said I could and (2) it is no big
deal if we have to reformat it. If it hadn't been for the latter, I never
would have done it.

It wasn't me who ignored the warnings - and I said I was sorry.

Many of the MVPs here warned users about using Beta software for production use and were roundly booed for being spoilsports and naysayers. We replied that the warnings were clear and for folks to proceed at their own peril.

I presume that yours is just the beginning of the problems that are going to crop up now that the beta has ended. You can always see if a buddy or a co-worker kept the downloaded beta 2 files and use that to reinstall but that is about the best it can get.

There are no files to download anymore.. how many different ways can you
think up to reword that statement such that it retains its meaning..

Re. using beta software on a production machine, you just don't do it..
JoAnn, Milly, myself and others have all put out warnings re the use and
dangers involved.. it can be quite a frustrating task repeting the same
warning over and over again, knowing that somebody, as in your case, is
going to return unhappy that something mission critical has fallen apart..

Hi Joel,

A longshot, but if you're not relying on any of the new features of Powerpoint 2007 and don't have any neighbors or coworkers who
may also have the original Office 2007 Beta 2 download that you could use and if the presentation is finished, you may want to try
opening it in Powerpoint 2003 using the B2TR converters from
http://microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/converter.mspx
and doing the presentation in the 2003 version of Powerpoint.

Why not just download the 2007 file converter for PP 2003 and avoid all of
this grief. If you try to open the PPTX file in PP 2003, you should be
given the option to download the file converter and smile all the while..
