I've been using Outlook 2003 for several years and have a number of rules
set up to help handle email "stuff". However, the laptop I've been using is
long in the tooth and started having boot problems.
SO, I get another laptop with Office Pro 2003 (SP2) installed. It also has
this "Business Contact Manager" critter installed in Outlook.
I'm in the process of saving my PST files and moving to the new machine
before the old laptop totally craters I save my rules to import in the new
Outlook.
On the new machine I look under the "Tools" menu but there is no "Rules and
Alerts..." item! I look under all the other menus and submenus but don't
find it. I bring up "Tools|Customize" and look on the Commands tab under
Tools, then under everything else. NO "Rules and Alerts" to be found
anywhere. WTF?
Next step, I uninstall Outlook and reinstall it. Still not there. I
uninstall the Business Contact Manager, then uninstall Outlook, delete the
starter pst file and Extended file, reinstall. STILL not there.
OUTLOOK IS USELESS without RULES.
HELP??? I need to get moved before this old machine dies completely.
Thanks,
Dan
