Where is the '07 Trust Center?

Good evening.

I write Excel macros for my company. I have a self-signed digital
certificate, never having seen the cost of an authorzied one worth it. We've
all been on Office '03, and I knew how to help people set up their macro
security levels to accept my code. Many have started moving to Office 2007,
and now that whole thing is centralized in the 'Trust Center'. They can't
find it and, since I still have '03, I can't help them.

Can anyone tell me how to help them find it and allow my self-signed macros
to work on their installations?

TIA.

Hi P.D.,

The Trust Center for each apps is in the options dialog for the App,
Office Button=>Excel Options=>Trust Center
(Alt, T, O, T) [Excel 2003 shortcut keys that work in 2007) or
(Alt, F, I, T) [Excel 2007 keyboard shortcut]

Within the Trust Center the 'Macro Settings' choice includes one to Disable all macros except ditially signed macros'.

There is an online demo version of Office 2007 you can use if you don't have a desktop copy to be more familiar with the dialogs.

- Click the Office button in the upper left corner.
- Click "Word Options" in the bottom of the menu.
- Click "Trust Center" in the left column of the Options dialog.
- Click the Trust Center Settings button.
- Click "Macro Settings" in the left column of the Trust Center dialog.
- Select "Disable all macros except digitally signed macros".
- Click "Message Bar" and make sure "Show the Message Bar" is selected.
- OK out of all dialogs.

- Open a document containing a macro project that has been signed with your
certificate. The Message Bar ("Security Warning") will appear just below the
ruler. Click the Options button in the bar.
- A dialog appears with information about the certificate. Select "Trust all
documents from this publisher" and click OK.

- Go back to the Trust Center dialog.
- Click "Trusted Publishers" in the left column of the Trust Center dialog. Your
certificate should be shown in the list.
