Hi JO,

Data1.msi is used by MS Office 2000 family products
(CD#1). Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows
control panel to see what MS Office 2000 products are
installed.

My system does not show any office 2000 products, just the office XP and
another line shows office XP with frontpage. I do not physically have any
CD's for Office 2000, I do have the CDs for Office XP Professional
w/Frontpage... but the data1.msi file is not on any of them (according to
the search features).

When I download the Office XP updates from the MS website, it runs most of
the way then asks for the data1.msi file. The error pops up in a window
titled "Access 2000 runtime error"

suggestions?

Hi JO,

The Access 2000 Runtime is an Office 2000 product.
It may have been installed by a 3rd party app, but
the bottom of the dialog box asking for the CD
does that dialog name the CD it wants in the
'use feature from' dialog?

Yes, it does, I remember it giving a file location in a directory that I
deleted long ago. I downloaded a product trial for WASP barcode reader
software. Great software, after my eval at home I was able to convince
folks at work to purchase it & improve their inventory management.

I erased the whole program. Would it be wise then to download the trial
again to install the Access runtime again, since it seems that the WASP
software is what installed the Acess runtime?

I do not have office 2000 I have office XP and therefore do not have that
file anywhere. Would reinstalling the WASP trial software re-install the
access runtime info & data1.msi file that it's looking for?
