Where is the Line Spacing call out

Processor: Intel

Hi:

In Office V.X I had the option to call out line spaceing this way:

Format/Line Spacing/Line Spacing (lines or points)/Before Paragraph (lines or points)/After Paragraph (lines or points).

With 2008 I am going to Format/Paragraph/Spacing/Before (Points)/After (Points)

My problem is that my clients guidleines call for Line Spacing using Lines and I don't see that option anymore.

TIA for any advice.

I'm a bit pressed or time so forgive me if I seem a bit terse :) but in a
nutshell it would be to everyone's advantage it you could find a diplomatic
way of convincing your client to update their guidelines.

That spec is based on an archaic concept adopted on the manual typewriter as
a "dumbed down" interpretation of Leading. It "worked" because typewriters
only provided one font size. Contemporary software works on the basis of
type*setting* as opposed to type*writing* which is more precise & makes the
distinction between "Line Spacing" [within a paragraph & predicated on font
size] and Paragraph Spacing [which separates paragraphs but doesn't effect
line spacing]. There is no actual measurement system based on "lines"
because line height is a variable.

You're making me feel if I am now beyond old and have landed in the
archaic category! LOL

How do you think I feel!

(still say - why not offer a choice of points or lines since there's a lot of older templates, PPT, etc. out there, but I'm just being archaic). LOL
