In Office 2007 there is an option to stop the display message if you would
like to delete items in your delete folder. I can't find it anywhere in the
options section.

Let me know if this fixes what you mean:

Go to Tools > Options > "Other" Tab
Under General click "Advanced Options"
Unclick the checkbox for "Warn before permanently deleting items.

Art, Your are the man, thanks for the quick reply. I think I'm really going
to like this new version of Office.

Sorry dude, not what I was looking for. In 2007 under:
TOOLS>OPTIONS>OTHER>ADVANCED OPTIONS, you de-select “Warn before permanently
deleting items†and you do not get the warning message on shutdown. Still
can’t find it in 2010.

Did you look on the Backstage?
