I want to view access mdb files. snapshot viewers only seem to open snp
files. What can I use to open actual mdb files?

There is no viewer for Access files. The mdb database file can be connected
to by other programs to extract data from it, but as far as opening the file
to get to the forms and reports, you need to use Access. There is a runtime
version, but that requires the developer's edition of Access to be able to
use and distribute that. Also, as a word of caution, while Microsoft Word
can connect to an mdb file as a data source for mail merging, DON'T try to
open the file directly with Word, you'll corrupt the file.

Microsoft Access.

An MDB file contains a lot of objects including Forms and Reports which only
Access can handle.

If you only want to view the data, you may be able to access the data in the
Table using another software application such as Excel.
