Kathy,
While there are a lot of places to get sound files. You might run into
technical and/or copyright restrictions on what you want to do. I
strongly recommend looking for Creative Commons licensed work that gives
you permission to adapt the work and to use it for commercial uses (if
you are using this for business and not personal uses). You can find
Creative Commons licensed sounds at the following locations:
Opsound -
http://www.opsound.org/
Ccmixter -
http://ccmixter.org/
Free-Loops -
http://free-loops.com/
FreeSound -
http://www.freesound.org/
Jamendo -
http://www.jamendo.com/en/
For many uses, it is not legal to just take whatever sound files you
want and use them in your presentation, but with the above resources, it
is easy to find things that are perfectly legal for you to use for
almost anything you want to do with it.

I want to use sound files in variety of presentation files. Other than the
files that come with Microsoft where is a good place to find sound files.
Can I get some from the web and customize, for example, take a song and edit
it? I'm new to this so please advise.
Thank you in advance.
