where to place tags

I seem to be able to search for certain tags and the others do not come up. I
have tried inserting the tags at various locations..i..e inside the box,
outside the box etc and do not know where exactly the tags have to be
inserted for all of them to show up on tag search. Thanks for your help.

In general, a Tag gets applied to the whole paragraph, and you shouldn't
have to do anything special to get it to appear in a Tag search. I have
two things to try:

1) Are you sure that the Page where the Tag you're looking for is in the
same search scope as found on the bottom of the Tag Summary Screen? Try
setting that to "All Notebooks" and see if that makes the Tagged notes
appear.

2) When in the Tag Summary Task Pane, try toggling the "Show only unchecked
items" checkbox. Some Tags are checkboxes, and can be checked/unchecked.
Others are not checkboxes, and their presence in a Tag search will only be
seen when "Show only unchecked items" is turned off. It's a confusing use
of the diffferent types of Tags which I hope gets resolved in a future
version.

I looked into this and I have already set the search to all notebooks and
also checked/ uncheked items. I think the tags do not show up unless you
write/ type something new on it. I have power point slides that I copy into
one note and if I just try to tag a pargraph it will not show up but if I
have typed something next to it then the tag shows up. I wonder why? This
gets a little annoying, is there a way to get around it?

The changed Tag list in the Task Pane does not get updated automatically.
If you see new Tags or changes when you click on the "Refresh Results"
button, that behavior is normal.
