Where's an HPGL converter for Word 2007?

I upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2007 and now I can't import HPGL
pictures into my Word documents! ARGGHH! I have a lot of applications that
write and produce HPGL files, and I like to import them into Word. Does
anyone know if Microsoft has a converter for Word 2007 like the one for Word
2000 that used to work, but no longer works? Thanks.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for your helpful post, reminding me to use some of the other
resources available. I have a HiJaak tool that can convert my HPGL to
Encapsulated Postscript files (.EPS), and Word 2007 CAN import those! So that
looks like a good solution. Thanks again!

I used to use HiJaak a long time ago. I did not know it was still around. I'm
glad you found a workaround.

Hi Mary,

Yes, well...ahem! My old version of HiJaak (by Quarterdeck, from 1996) is 13
years old still installs and runs great on Windows XP SP3, and the Enhanced
Metafile (EMF extension) is actually the one that does the best job being a
"translator" for the HP-GL plotter language. The old converter Microsoft made
available that ImageStream made operational under MS Word 2000-2003 was still
better, but it looks like Microsoft no longer supports the HP-GL graphics
format. That is of course except for the natural workaround of just
continuing to use the older versions of Word that have the HPGL engine still
working and still run under other Windows platforms!

Thanks again for your interest and assistance.

My HiJaak 95 is for Windows 95. I might install it on an old computer (Windows
98) just to see if it will work!
