Where's my project on sql server db?

Hi,

We develop data visualization software for project management data and we
are testing using MS Project 2003 and also publishing the data to Project
Server 2003. I have published 2 projects through MS Project 2003 and I can
see them when I log onto the Project Server homepage, but when we try to
search the sql server database for them, they are nowhere to be found. How
can I find out where my data is being saved to? Thanks in advance for any
help that you can give

Regards,

John: You will need at least two documents that explain the database
schema... and it is not simple. Look in the help folder of the server where
Project Server is running for pjdb.htm and pjsvrdb.htm

Good luck.... I would like to see your product!

MAT and Doug,

Thanks for the help, suggestions and the tip on where to find the schema
info. I found my projects in the MSP_WEB_PROJECTS table. That raised some
new questions

I saw that the local path was leading back to my computer. Does this mean
that when I publish my projects in MS Proj 2003 it doesn't get written to
the database? When I use the project server website is it just reading the
project off of my local machine?

This whole time I thought that a copy of my project got uploaded to the
database. If it just stays on my local machine, is there a way to upload or
write it to the database? This brings up my next question--In the
MSP_PROJECTS table there are some projects listed. How did those get there,
and how are we supposed to view and manipulate them?

We're trying to figure out the different ways that people use the Proj
Server db and manipulate the data inside of it so that we can know the
different ways and circumstances that we need to connect to it.

Since Doug wanted to see the project, if you want to see some info on what
we're developing, you can check out the info we have at
www.knowledgerelay.com/projectvisuals.asp

Thanks for all of the help so far,

John:

If your server is not configured to disallow publishing of projects not
saved to the server, you can actually publish project plans from your local
drive. I wouldn't recommend this if you're serious about benefiting from
Project Server. If you're serious about mining data from Project Server,
some training would be wise.
