Which file format?

For new projects in Access 2002, which file format should I use for
development if I want to be able to run (after converting) in Access
97, 2000, and 2002?

Since I can convert to and older OR newer version, which approach is
preferable?

thanks,

Since Access 2002 will use the 2000 files as native files, I would use it. It saves one
conversion. However, conversions don't always go as smoothly as we think they should. You
will need a copy of Access 97 to test the converted file and make changes if necessary.
Also, be careful not to use any of the new functionality in Access 2002, it won't convert
backwards.
