Which Mac Office 2004 licenses have I used?

Hey there - we're struggling with office 2004 at the moment; we must
have installed the same license key on more than iMac - can someone
tell me how to check which of our 3 licenses we've used? We have a 3
license version, installed twice and they won't let each other run
simultaneously (without pulling out one of the network cables that is)

Thanks!

Hiya to change the licence:

1. run the Office Removal tool, you will find it here:
Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office/
RemoveOffice

2. When the first screen appear "Welcome to remove office" hold down
the option key and you will be given button "remove license info only"

3. Click that

4. next time you run office you will be promted for new licencing info

To see the product ID used for that maschine/office look in the About menu
in any Office aplication.

Addendum: You'll have to do trial and error though--there is no way to
figure out which license number created a specific product ID, although
a license used twice will create Product IDs that are almost identical
(information useful in the 20-machine office, but probably not yours)

Thank you both for the responses; holding 'option' key worked a treat!
Is this documented in the manual?

Specifically, it worked as described on the PowerPC iMac; but on the
intel iMac, I needed to also follow through and delete all the office
files as just removing license details didn't appear to do anything.
When I reinstalled Office on the intel iMac I was prompted to enter
license details; in the past reinstalling office didn't trigger a
request to enter the license key, so something worked...well.

Network now humming!

Thanks again
Cheers

Hi Alan:

You probably did not have EVERY application quit when you did it. Every
member of the Office suite, including the Microsoft Office Entourage Daemon,
must be quit or you can't de-licence it because it has the licence key
(which is an invisible file) locked.

By deleting all the files, you also deleted the key :)
