Which Office Program would work?

Which office program would work best? We are looking for a table like
structure were we can list information about employees in our area. One of
the fields is foreign Language, were people can list all of the languages
they are familiar with in one cell or field.

If I were doing a find and I want to find all those that speak French and
Spanish - which program would give me that option so I could see just those
employees that have French and Spanish listed in that field or cell?

Kind of like a filter but I need to filter for anyone who has listed French
and Spanish in that one cell or field.

If it's a small list then you can use Excel for this. It has a Filter option
that you can use to filter on specific data in the cell so you could list
all or just those who speak French or Spanish. Note that if the entire cell
contains something like "French and Spanish" and you want to find "Spanish"
only then you'd need to use a custom filter and the Contains operator in
order to search for "Spanish".

If you can't find the Filter options then please tell us which version of
Office you are using.

While I agree with Beth, in my mind, the bigger question is how detailed you
want it and how versed you are in the various Office products.

Excel is a great spreadsheet program and if you just want basics then it is
probably the way to go. If you want something more detailed that allows more
complext queries, then Access is the way to go.

Again - it depends on what you want to do (complexity), as well as what you
know the best.

Would be happy to work with you if you need assistance.
