Hi,
I have been trying to figure out which of the many options I should pick
when trying to paste special link from Excel to Word. I have been asking
questions here and been getting great answers, searching the MS knowledge db
etc.
I have 30 links to selected area's in Excel. what I have figured out so far
is that the past special link I can reveil the link via Alt-F9 only if I have
left it the default layout and not changed it. But if I don't change the
layout to "top and bottom" (which I think changes the object from text to a
shape and I haven't really figured out what this means yet) and set the
Absolute horizontal/vertical position it is very easy to mess up the
formatting if something in the document shifts. Sometimes the link loses its
connection, sometimes the image gets cropped, when I update the link (to
reflect the new data in excel) the shape gets all messed up... nothing seems
to work as it should.
I notice that with the default paste (in-line with text) there are a bunch
of swtiches I can use /a/p/f.... which might help me
So... which option is more "stable" and user friendly?
