Which Port does this use??

Anthony

We are having the issue described in this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;832588

We tried workaround 1 and that didnt help. Workaround 2 says:"To work around
this issue, open the port on the firewall that is blocking requests to the
Remote Data Services ISAPI Library component (Msadcs.dll)."

Does anyone know what port is used by default for this? I can't find it
anywhere on google or the MS website. How stupid is the solution that they
don't tell you what the default port is?

Thanks

Your not getting a data connection. How is your system setup? Do you have
Project Server in an internal network or is it in a DMZ or other such set up?

I am assuming here that you have set the exclude path in WSS for MSADC
otherwise the problem is likely due to that.

The Web Server to browser communication is over HTTP/XML running on port 80
(unless the web site is set to use another port).
The Web Server to database communication will be over the TCP/IP port for
the database. This is port 1433 by default unless an alias is set up.

Does PWA work if you run it on the server?

This may be a DSN configuration problem. I would use EditSite to test /
recreate the DSN. One other course of action is to try using the IP address
for the database server as opposed to the server name in the DSN.

Good luck.
