Which template opens when you click "New?"

In Vision 2007, currentky if I just click "New" rather than going through the
process of selecting a template, a new document opens with no stencil
associated with it (the Shapes Window is empty).

I'm pretty sure that in the past I've had it where it automatically opens
the template I moist often use with the Stencil I most often when I click
"New." Not sure when or how it changed.

Please advise!

THanks,

But what if there is no active document? If I start up Visio fresh and want
to create a brand new document, then click "New," how does it decide what
Template and Stencil to use?

I'm still interested in learning whaat template is used when there is no
document open and you click "New." I'd like to change the default if
possible, but I can't find it.

Any help is appreciated.

New with no existing document open results in a blank document (not based on
any template) with no stencils. You can't change this default. You could
create your own template with the settings and stencils you prefer.

Mark:

Thanks for the answer. I suspected that there is no way to change what type
of document opens when I click New with no open document and you have
confirmed that.

I do have a customized template and stendils. I was hoping the default could
be changed so that when my process modeling employees click "New" they would
be ready to create a document based on that customized template.

I was likening it to Word's NORMAL.DOT, which can be changed and altered to
your heart's content.
