Which version of Groove should I use?

I really like the concept of Groove, but which version should I download and
use? Do I download the Office 2007 version of Groove, or download the version
at groove.net?

I notice the download is a lot smaller from groove.net. I am primarily
interested in sharing workspaces and synchronizing amongst colleagues and
customers. I don't want anything too heavy.

The version at Groove.net is the older version. Additionally, it is only an
install launcher. It pulls down the rest of the bits. The 3.1 version and
the 2007 version are both hefty. They will both do a good job at exactly
what you want. The 2007 version is more stable and more secure, overall. The
2007 version is part of the Office suite of products and as such will enjoy
the same support lifetime as any other Office products. I can’t be so sure
about the 3.1 version.

If the version on groove.net is older, and bought out by Microsoft, then why
don't groove.net just redirect to the latest version supported by Microsoft?
Why leave their version up and running when they are not developing it
anymore and Microsoft is?
