While typing a doc or email, my screen will lockup, up to 15 sec?

During the typing of a document or an email, my screen will lockup, sometimes
for up to 15 seconds, and anything that I typed during the lockup is lost.
This happens quickly and unexpectedly. Any suggestions, am I missing a
setting somewhere?

Usually this is because you have Speech Recognition enabled on your
computer.
