While typing, why does the cursor go back to another word automat.

I have Office Vista. While typing in word, sometimes the cursor will jump
back to items already typed. It becomes very annoying as I am typing because
it just moves without provocation. Secondly, my vista excel program takes
forever to enter data into a cell or to then move to another cell. Any ideas?

Could be a touch pad on a lap top. On my Dell I have found that the problem
goes away if I set the Synaptics Touch Pad to disable itself when a real
mouse is installed. If you are not using a laptop never mind.

Assuming you have a touchpad, I also turn off the tap-click feature of the
pad. It drives me crazy to have it click on something when I'm just trying
to move the cursor.
