White line around inserted picture from file

I have inserted a picture with a black background into my page with a black
background but there is a thin white line along the left side and bottom of
the picture. I cannot get rid of it, what do I do?

Sounds like the image needs to be cropped in an image editing program to
eliminate the border.

If you haven't already, also double check the borders button on your toolbar
as well as in 'borders and shading' under format to see if either of them are
showing a left and bottom border.

Thank you both for your reply, I created the picture in a photo editing
program and went back several times to try to feather the edge and crop the
edge to no avail. However, Sabine I will check out your suggestions and see
what happens.
