Recently I took on a new position and multiple internal processes need
revamped. Currently many critical work processes are ran through
massive workbooks with multiple levels of linking to other workbooks.
In addition, there are other groups that link to data in our workbooks
and any changes in mine will have downstream impact on them. The
daisy chain doesn't seem to end.
What I need to do:
A.) Find out who is linking to what in my workbooks.
One solution: Move the file and see who complains. I will use this
tactic at some point, but for now I want a solid list because I think
some groups use the data but don't even know they use it. It may go a
while before it is noticed missing.
Is there any way to find out what workbooks are linking into data
inside of another workbook?
B.) Figure out what my workbooks are linking to.
One solution: Navigate through the "edit links" function to see where
my workbooks are linked. I would rather not do this either as there
are several chained.
Is there a way to figure out what workbooks my workbook is linking to
besides the "edit links" function?
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you,
