who views issues

From what I can tell unless you have at least 1 task in a project you
cannot see the issues with a project, even though the project shows on the
issue page. is this true, if so how would I give everyone in that category
permissions to view the issues without having a task.
Thanks

Cindy -

Decide which group you want to have the ability to view issues. In the
Security Template for that group (if you are using Security
Templates...and you should be) in the Views section, check Allow for
View Issues, Risks and Documents. When a project is published, people
with that permission get added to the Reader permission list for the
project in WSS.

For existing project sites, you will probably need to resynch.

This was checked and still if the person wasn't assigned a task they could
not view the issue. We did test this by assigning someone a task and not
assigning another person a task in the same group / category and only the
one with a task can view issues.

Hi,
there one way around it, when you add users to the "executives" group then
they also have read permission. It's only a work around I know because it
requires you to strip the executives profile so that you don't see too much +
what do you do with your exec's? But unless you manually add users in the
site, or via coding I did not find an alternative solution so far...

Why not create a new group rather than obliterate the Executives group?
