Whole document changes when I want to add one bullet, font change,

Whole document changes when I add one bullett, bold, font change, italic, etc.
The only way I can fix the problem, is by pressing the undo button, then it
puts all the information back to normal and leaves the original request, like
a bullett.

I have no clue what I am doing wrong and the setting (what ever it is) is
not on all documents.

How frustrating. Please help
