Why am I a "trial user" in Track Changes mode?

I am a resigistered paid-in-full user of Office X. But when I edit
documents and pass them along to others, my changes are identified as
coming from "Trial User." My new G5 came with a trail version of
Office X but I deleted it. Advice, please?

Hah! We are all trial users when it come to track changes.

Not unreasonably, a re-nstallation tries to keep your user set stuff
intact.
If you hop into preferences -> User information you may be able to
change things more to your liking.

Hi Chuck:

When you install any version of Microsoft Office, it writes a hidden file
into the system that contains your licence ID and your original user name.

If you use the Office removal Tool from your CD to remove Office, it will
remove that file so that when you then re-install it will write the correct
name in there.

If you replace the Trial version of Office X, and THEN install the paid-for
version, it will update the file.

Bit of a nuisance, isn't it :)

If neither of these work, get back to me: I am not online at the moment. If
I were, I could look up exactly which file it is and tell you how to delete
it yourself.

Cheers
