Why am I getting e-mail in windows mail and also microsoft outlook

I just switched from dial-up to satellite. While consolidating contacts and
messages from windows mail to microsoft outlook, I did something to allow
messages arriving at both places. Microsoft Outlook is the default setting.
Could someone please explain this? I am also thinking about getting rid of
windows mail after this issue is taken care of. Good idea? Thanks

In Windows Mail go to Tools, Accounts, select your account, press Remove. Or
just don't open Windows Mail and it won't download your emails.

You can't remove Windows Mail - it is an integrated component of Vista.

As an alternative to Castell's advice about deleting the account from
Windows Mail, you could instead just disable checking for mail on that
account, but leave the account defined.
