Why am I unable to send emails with Outlook Express?

I'm asking this for my father. For some reason he is unable to send emails
using Outlook Express. He can receive them but can't send. He has had the
cable company to come out and they find no problem with his Internet provider
or email address. This just happened today...up until then he could send and
receive. Can you please help me to help him. Why would he all of a sudden
not be able to send emails. Please email me at (e-mail address removed).

This is a support newsgroup for Microsoft Office, and we do not reply to
email addresses. Also publishing your email address in the open is
definitely not a good idea. I suggest that you cancel your original
message, then post it (without your email address) in an Outlook Express
newsgroup such as
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general or
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.ie6_outlookexpress
