Why are all Incoming Email messages suddenly going into Delete fol

For the past 3-4 days all my incoming email messages are going into the
Deleted Items folder. Even a message I send to myself ends up there rather
than the Inbox.

Running Outlook 2003. All my virus programs (Norton 2004) are up to date and
nothing else seems to be wrong with my computer.

Sounds like you may have inadvertently created a rule configured to do this.
Check all your rules.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything that created a rule that would delete
everything sent to my Inbox so I just deleted every rule that I had created
over the past couple of months. I had created 10-15 rules to delete specific
sleezy spammers that got through Outlook's junk mail filter and my Norton
spam mail filter. Somehow one of these rules that I had created must have
somehow applied itself to all incoming mail because when I deleted all the
rules the Inbox works perfectly now.

Thanks again.

I had the same thing happen suddenly a few days ago. I have Outlook 2003. I
did a search on Outlook HELP and was told to go to "Tools" then click on
"Rules and Alerts". There I found a list of "Email Rules" and there was a
small list, nothing like the long list I have in Outlook on my "Blocked
Senders List". In fact some of the some 10 listing didn't even make sense. So
I deleted them all and my mail started coming into my INBOX again. Obviously
a software bug.

Let's see, you created the rules, they caused problems, you deleted the
rules, the problem went away.

Yeah, that is the perfect definition of a "software" bug. More of a PEBKAC
problem IMHO.
