Why are emails that are sent to me in html arrive in text format?

I cannot find a way to fix it so that html messages arrive as html messages.
Instead they arrive in text format, which makes some of them unreadable
because all the coding is in the midst of the message.

Can anyone help me fix this problem? I can't find help in the
knowledgebase, or i don't know where to look there.

Thanks.

No cure yet - still hoping someone will reply who knows what's going on.
I have two computers, both with Outlook 2007, and on one the emails come
thru as html, on the other as text. But I can't find any difference between
my settings on the two computers.

Did you enable the option to view all messages as Plain Text? Do you have
your antivirus program scanning incoming mail?

Thanks for the response, Brian.

I do have AVG Free scanning incoming emails. I didn't see anything in AVG
that appeared to have anything to do with how messages are viewed.

I have not enabled the option to view all messages as plain text. When I
read that I was hoping I had and that this would be an easy fix, but no luck.

Any other ideas what I might try?

Thank you! That fixed the problem. I would not have figured that one out on
my own.

Version of outlook?

In Outlook 2003, go to Tools, Options, Preferences, E-mail options and check
the option to read all mail as plain text. You can switch messages to HTML
by clicking in the Infobar.

In Outlook 2007, its on the tools, trust center command, email security
section.
