Why are letters always capitalized on the left margin

Whenever I create an e-mail, the first letter of the first word I type on a
new line always defaults to upper case even though it is not the first word
of a NEW sentence. How do I stop this?

Are you pressing Enter/carriage return right before it?

This only happens when you press ENTER to insert a manual line break.
Automatic line breaks don't do this. Anyway you can turn it of in your
Autocorrect settings in Spelling
