Why are menu items greyed out in trial version of OneNote?

According to the web site, the trial version of OneNote has all the
functionality of the full version. However, I cannot open the "Stationery"
task pane, for example; most menu items are greyed out. I cannot rename or
create folders or sections, because those menu items are also greyed out. Is
the web site wrong, or is this the full functionality of OneNote? I'd like to
be able to evaluate a fully-functional version to see if it meets my needs.

Mark,
Have you activated the product? None of those options will work until you do
so....

That was basically it, yes. What I actually had to do was to exit the
software, reboot, and restart the software (after activating the product).
Then I got all the menu items to show up.
