Why are my columns numbered instead of lettered?

I bought a new computer and for some reason the Excel spreadsheet does't sho
Letters for the columns, as usual, but instead it shows numbers. So both my
columns and my rows are numbered, and when I enter a formula I really don´t
undrstand how it works. For example, i get this in the cell: =FC(-1)*F2C3
when I am used to working with th number and letter reference: =c1+c2
I tried to look for ways to change this, but did't succeed. Please help.

If using Excel 2007: Select Office Button in top left corner. Choose Excel Options button at bottom of new window. Select Formulas. Go to Working with formulas and unselect the box next to R1C1 reference style.
