Why are my contacts being sent as .dat files and not .vcf files?

When I try to email my Distribution Lists they are sent as .txt files or .dat
files and the recipients are unable to drag them into their Contacts

Sending DLs can be problematic as you have discovered. Are you sending them
in an RTF formatted message or to other outlook users?
