Why are my Documents READ ONLY!? I want to send to C.D. edit an

My Documents become READABLE ONLY for some reason. Why is this ?

I want to send Document to a C.D. and edit it there. Then I want to send it
to my Publisher. Can anyone help please? Roland.

Hi, Rolando,

I don't believe you can use Word or other Office applications to edit
directly on a CD.

Try copying them to a special folder on your computer, edit there, then burn
to the CD.

You can't edit a file that is on CD. Once a file is written to a CD it
cannot be modified. Even a rewritable CD would not allow modification of
the contents of the file after being written, it would only allow you to
replace the file with a changed version.

Not quite true - if the CDRW disk is formatted for packet writing, it
becomes just like another drive.....and you can edit files on a
packet-writing formatted CDRW disk....
