Why are my note flags not summarising under the correct category?

When I try to do a list summary of my note flags, some of them don't list
under the correct category

Which ones? Are they custom note flags or default ones? Which build of
OneNote are you using? (Help | About)

They are custom ones. For example, I have 16 customised note flags called
'Audience', 'Journalist', 'Field', 'Research', 'Ideas', 'Good Quotes' etc and
when I do a note-page summary I will find 'journalist' entries within
'audience', or 'Research' within 'Good Quotes'. It is very frustrating, I
have been through my Notebook twice and removed and re-entered my Note Flags.

By any chance do you have the same note flag, but under a different name, in
use on other pages in your notebook? Maybe you applied some of the custom
noteflags, even inadvertenly, prior to your customization?

Thanks Ben.
That may have been the case. I have gone through and printed off my note
flag summary and done a blanket delete of all note flag entries and started
again rather than deleting and re-doing individual entries. It seems to be
staying summarised correctly so far. Hopefully, this has fixed the problem.
Thank goodness I have been only using the program for a couple of months!

Good that you got it sorted. Noteflags are powerful things but there can be
some issues in those circumstances where you've used the same flag as two
different things. That happens to me occasionally too.

I am very upset and having problems using search functions with onenote beta
2 and WDS. First, when i search inside the onenote program it never finds the
words i have typed. I have marked off to check all note books.

If i go to the page the word in located it will then find it.

THe hourglass that indicated its looking has stoped so why isnt it finding
my terms.

Second, it will not find all my flags when i click on note flags summary. I
have customized many of them but they are all the same throught all my
notebooks.

I really need this to work so when I have to search for a legal term of what
a client said the ability to find it.

Under tools options the Install instant search option is grayed out and I
can click on it.

help please.

how do i check if i am using WDS3? I see the index options in control panl
but dont know version, What is B2TR?
