Why are some JPGs not printing correctly in Word & Publisher 2003?

I am having a similar problem as PJHM's post on 8/1/2006. JPGs that used to
print correctly in the same versions of Word and Publisher are
not printing correctly now. I have just installed Photoshop CS2 and wonder
if that has caused the problem - I also uninstalled Element v2 and Photoshop
5.5. It doesn't happen with all JPGs. - those already existing in a Word or
Pub 2003 document display and Print correct colours BUT any new jpegs (via
INSERT) display correct colours but print totally differently-eg violet
prints peach, black disappears (i.e prints white?). These same Jpegs display
and print OK from M. Office Picture Manager and also OK when I create a PDF
file and print it. I have already reinstalled MS Word and the HP printer
driver & that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas? I also think the
problem is with 2003 Word & Publisher but don't know how to fix it. I'm
tearing my hair out now as I have deadlines creeping up and have already
spent 1+ days on this. Please can anyone help.
