Why are tables delted on opening?

A colleague of mine is using Word 2001. Every time she opens a file
with tables, they are gone, leaving fragmented text (which is supposed
to be in the tables.) I've open the same files in v.X with no problem
at all. How can I get hers to work?

Thanks!

How were the tables created? Using what version of Word? PC or Mac? What
fonts are used? Does she have problems with anything other than tables?
Graphics? Does the problem only occur with tables sent from the same
source? If you create tables in Word X using Arial font for the text and
send them to her, does she still have the problem? Has she fully updated
Office 2001 (if not there are instructions in the article I cited
previously)? Anything else you can think of that might help us track it
down?
