Why are there unpredictable spaces in the text around figure boxe.

Why are there unpredictable spaces in the text around figure boxes even when
set at tight wrapping? Each time I edit text in the document some new,
unexpected spaces show up and seem to be related to the presence of figures
on the same or adjacent pages.

Thank you for your help.

This appears to be a problem with the feature + graphics card driver + printer
driver + paragraph settings (keep lines together and keep with next). You might
try removing these two last settings for the paragraph in which a graphic is
anchored, just to see if it makes any difference.
