I have a problem with FP 2002 on a WIN 98 Dell 1.3GHZ ans 256MB ram:
1) not wanting to show the subweb designations correctly
2) showing the whole ROOT when I try to open a folder I know is a subweb
3)wanting to publish the whole ROOT and all subwebs when I publish what I
know is a single
subweb
FP has been doing this corectly for years until yesterday.
Drive C: was reformated and WIN 98and all software reinstalled about a
month ago. So, I have
assumed that WIN 98 should not be cruded up, nor should the Registry. I have
not knowingly
made any systems changes or added any software in the last several days.
My system is protected by McAffe virus software. And I diskscan and defrag
often.
I have tried these to correct the problem
1) Rebooting: no effect
2) Using the FP repair facility: no effect
3) Uninstalling and reinstalling FP: no effect
MS File Explorer shows the correct ROOT/folder/subweb designations.
Therefore I have asumed
it is NOT a WIN 98 problem. See the first image on
http://www.wgtn.net/FP_error_2005_02_09.htm
The FP web open panel shows the subweb desingation, but the left panel does
NOT! Therefore, I
assumed that FP itself was confused since it was presenting TWO different
versions of the truth
on the same screen. See the second image on
http://www.wgtn.net/FP_error_2005_02_09.htm
An interesting fact is that when go to an old Dell on the network and use FP
to try to access the
same subwebs I get a server error mesage. See the third image on
http://www.wgtn.net/FP_error_2005_02_09.htm
What can I do to fix this short of reformating drive C: and reistalling WIN
98 and everything else?
