Why can Microsoft make it easier to blockemail from a given domain?

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

I have used outlook for years. I am also a developer and do have some understanding of what it takes to write code. In Outlook you can block a domain or a given address as you mark something as Junk. In Entourage you have to manually add blocked domains? Why pull it from a given email? I get approx 200 junk emails a day. It has been this level for a long time now. When I was in outlook, by blocking domain I was able to keep my protection set at medium or low and add then 5 or 10 a day to the blocked domain or blocked address filter and I never had to worry about good emails being filtered out.

Why don't we have this ability on Entourage. I upgraded because the marketing said Office 2008 offered better junk email protection. HAH, I wasted 149.00. I am VERY disappointed in Microsoft and Mactopia. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!~

Hi Allan!

First, please keep in mind that these newsgroups are peer-to-peer. The
best way to send any feedback to Microsoft (rather than your peers) is
to use the Help --> Send Feedback tool in any Office application or go
directly to the Mactopia website
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/suggestions.mspx>.

Neither Outlook 2003 nor 2007 have a command for blocking domains as you
mark an item as junk. Both Outlook and Entourage handle blocking domains
the same way.

You can right-click any message in Outlook or use the menus to select
"Junk E-mail" and you only have the options to:

Add Sender to Blocked Senders List
Add Sender to Safe Senders List
Add Sender's Domain to Safe Senders List
Add Recipient to Safe Recipients List

You can block an entire domain in both Outlook and Entourage by adding
the domain name "example.com" to the "Blocked Senders" list. This must
be done manually.

I'm unsure about your disappointment in Mactopia since you haven't
specified your problem with Mactopia. You can send suggestions to
Microsoft about this part of their website by using the Website Feedback
link found at the bottom of every page or using this link
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/feedback.mspx>.

Hope this helps!

I agree, why is it so difficult to mark an address and/or domain as a "blocked". Why do I have to retype the entire address in the "Blocked Sender" list. What a pain in the @!@$%. I am using entourage 2008 and can't find what was posted...."click on any email and say "move to blocked sender folder" or something similar. I too upgraded specifically for the "better" spam filter. Help!!
