Why can you not highlight a task in MS Project?

Seems like it should be an EASY function to add to the application and it
would be so very helpful.

Tyco,

Haven't you tried :
Format / Font / Backgroud color ?

You can if you are using Project 2007. Try Format -> Font -> Background Color.
But this function does not exist in the older versions of Project.

However, I wish this fucntion is not hidden. It should just be in the toolbar.

Hi Tyco,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You can! Just select the ID number for the task and Format/Font - give it
whatever highlight you want. You can automate this by recording a macro
which you can put on a toolbar for instant use and a second one to remove
it. If you want details on how to do this, you might like to have a look at
my free series on Microsoft Project in the TechTrax ezine, particularly #16
on macros, at this site: http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc or this:

(Perhaps you'd care to rate the article before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
