Why can't I create a new report in Microsoft Access?

Everytime I try to create a new report in Microsoft Access I get the message:
"There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object. The
object may have been sent to a printer that is unavailable." I'm only trying
to create a report, not print anything. I don't have a printer connected to
my laptop but I use a network printer if I need to. Do I have to have a
printer to create a report or is this just a glitch in the program I can fix?

Access does use the metrics from the printer driver to calculate how a
report will be laid out. From the posts here, there does appear to be some
problems with network printer information not being available (esp. in
A2003).

Could you install another printer driver onto your notebook? You don't have
to buy or physically connect a printer, just install something from the
choices available in Windows and see if that solves the problems.
