Why cant I delete things I highlighted? I could Before.

Why cant I delete things I highlighted? I could Before. I was working on a
paper and out of no where I cant delete things anymore. I tried restarting my
computer and it reoccurs. I can delete things on other writing documents such
as notepad.

Make sure you don't have Track Changes enabled. If that's not the issue,
then if you're using the Backspace key to delete, you need to enable "Typing
replaces selection" as Graham advised. If it's actually the Delete key that
isn't working, then you need to disable both options that refer to
WordPerfect on the General tab of Tools | Options.
